Account Manager – Independent Natural Food Stores – Springfield, MA

Summary:

Our Specialty/Natural Division is seeking an Account Manager for Independent Natural Food Stores. This position is located in the general area around Springfield, MA and/or Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities:

Independent Store Retail Sales / Possible select Distributor Headquarter sales as needed

  • Present new items
  • Present promotions
  • Present and discuss financials, payments, etc.
  • Prepare necessary forms to complete the above
  • Accompany Clients to Customer as needed
  • Contact via phone, email, writing or in person distributor account managers and Key Retailer decision makers
  • Accompany distributor account managers on agreed upon retailer calls

Retail Activity

  • Prepare JOH retail store audits per month for various retailers
  • Occasional retail reset work to supplement new business development opportunities
  • Work with Key Distributor personnel as needed and directed
  • Process Turn orders via each distributors Turn Over Systems
  • Occasionally physically cut in new items and generate & place shelf tags

Trade Shows

  • Attend sales meetings as needed, occurring every 4-6-9 times per year
  • Attend key distributor trade shows (as needed including DPI, UNFI, Chex, Bozzuto’s, etc.)
  • Attend select industry food shows (as needed including Specialty Food & Natural Food shows)
  • Determine necessity of any retailer shows

Administration

The Director of All Things Amazon will lead the team as we build out our full suite of Amazon solutions. The Director will build out the team and create processes to drive success for our clients at Amazon. The Director, partnered with our Corporate Team, will pursue new client acquisition – initially focused on current clients within JOH’s network. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop customizable, yet scalable strategic solutions that position JOH as a best-in-class Amazon partner for our clients

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree required + 5 years’ experience in a CM function
  • CPG industry experience required – strong understanding of the business
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Expert in CM Concepts, including opportunity and share gap analysis, productivity & share of shelf evaluations and promotional effectiveness
  • Self-starter, quick learner, and works well in independent situations
  • Strong presentation skills – articulate, confident, and effective
  • Proficiency in extracting and mining data
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to utilize internal databases and in-house category analysis software
  • Expert in A.C. Nielsen and IRI Syndicated Data Analysis Tools
  • Expert in Data Alchemy CM software application and JDA POG software
  • Strong technical and analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable plans and presentations
  • Proven success managing multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to project
  • Strong communication and priority setting skills
