CATEGORY MANAGEMENT ANALYST

SUMMARY

The category management analyst supports the sales team’s goals and objectives through thorough data analysis. The analyst will represent JOH in front of clients and customers, identifying trends, reviewing key indicators, and anticipating objections. The analyst is responsible for delivering impactful summaries that highlight opportunities for growth for the client, customer, and category.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Competently build presentations for business reviews, sales and interview presentations; interpret their meaning
Understand the needs and objectives of the business and deliver results by partnering with colleagues to develop sound business strategy
Comprehend consumer behavior/shopper loyalty data and apply actionable insights
Ability to maintain and manage a client portfolio. Continually evaluate business climate while acting strategically to anticipate business challenges and opportunities.
Develop personalized marketing plans on retailer specific data platforms. Cultivate strong relationships with specific retailer merchandising teams
Understand and explain the Nielsen and IRI syndicated data concepts, and recommend applications

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS Degree and past successful sales experience or related job experience
1- 2 years of experience in a past analytical role. CPG industry experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Nielsen and IRI platform; Unify, Market Advantage, AOD, Nitro
Experience with Shopper Insights Data/Retailer Specific Loyalty Databases required; (ExtraCare, EYC, Aimia, Oracle, etc.) but ExtraCare experience preferred
Experience developing and executing marketing strategy a plus
Proficiency in JDA/Apollo planogram software

The Director of All Things Amazon will lead the team as we build out our full suite of Amazon solutions. The Director will build out the team and create processes to drive success for our clients at Amazon. The Director, partnered with our Corporate Team, will pursue new client acquisition – initially focused on current clients within JOH’s network. The Director will report directly to the President and COO of JOH and will serve as the leader of our newly created Amazon Division.

This role will be backed by one of the strongest independent sales and marketing organizations in the country with over 500 clients, decades of industry experience, and deep relationships across all categories and channels.

The ideal candidate will be immersed in the Amazon ecosystem with extensive experience with AMG, AMS, Vendor Central, and Seller Central. Experience with Walmart.com, Jet.com, Peapod and other eCommerce platforms is an added benefit. The Director will be expected to be a hands-on leader and teacher. This role will evolve quickly as the team and client base grow.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop customizable, yet scalable strategic solutions that position JOH as a best-in-class Amazon partner for our clients
Strategize, build, execute and measure solutions that are focused on ensuring catalog and operational effectiveness online, and ensure marketing support is optimized. Core functions to be led include search, merchandising, brokerage & catalog support, operations and inventory management, content development and optimization, data reporting, and analytics
Establish Amazon and other eCommerce retailer relationships through networking opportunities to increase our industry reputation and profile while providing new and exciting opportunities for our brand partners
Be the in-house expert on Amazon, competition, trends and technology in the 3rd party commerce space
